While you can clean your hearing aids at home, ideally, you should take them to your audiologist twice a year. During these clean and check appointments, our team at Hearing Healthcare Center, Inc. will make sure everything is working properly so you don’t miss any of your favorite sounds.
What Is a Clean and Check Appointment?
You should schedule clean and check appointments every six months. During this time, your audiologist will:
- Wipe down your hearing aids
- Remove earwax from the microphone
- Replace the wax guards if needed
- Test the receiver, microphone, controls and battery compartment
How Should I Care for My Hearing Aids at Home?
It’s important to follow a regular care routine for your hearing devices. You should clean them daily, wash your hands before handling them, change the wax guards as needed and store them in their case when not in use.
